Renewable Energy at Seneca Landfill

2/15/2018

What happens to your garbage after it leaves your house?

You may think that when your trash goes into the landfill, that's the end of the story. But at Seneca Landfill, that's just the beginning!

Seneca Landfill, part of the Vogel Holding family of businesses, has taken on the valuable task of turning landfill gas into renewable energy. Natural gas can be used for fueling CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles, heating buildings, and fueling operations onsite at the landfill.

To help you understand the process, Seneca Landfill has created a fun, interactive timeline. Click here to follow the journey as your household waste gets turned into usable natural gas!
