Disposing of Chemicals, Tires, Prescriptions, Electronics

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency provides information for the collection or drop-off of a variety of hard-to-dispose-of materials. You can view this information on the Ohio EPA website.

Hard-to-dispose-of materials include, but are not limited to:

• automotive fluids, household cleaners, pesticides, paints and other household chemicals
• e-waste such as computer towers and peripheral equipment, cell phones, printer/toner cartridges, CFLs and expandable polystyrene packaging, and printers
• televisions and computer monitors
• alkaline batteries
• fluorescent tubes
• small Freon appliances
• tires
• unwanted and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications

Use this list of recyclers and environmental service providers to find vendors for specific categories in your area. You can also look for collection dates and events on the Mahoning County website.
