Ohio Valley Waste Service offers employees the following types of benefits:
1. Full time employment plus potential overtime. Employees are paid at an hourly rate plus time and one-half for overtime hours worked.
2. Work weeks can vary from 5-8 hour days to 4-10 hour days for the  employee’s regular schedule.
3. Health, Eye, Dental, Life, AD&D and short-term disability benefits after waiting period.
4. Eligible for company-provided uniforms after waiting period, if applicable.

Job Opening Details

Service Writer
Beaver Falls, PA
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Description
The Service Writer will perform a wide variety of functions related to administering vehicle repairs within the organization. The position will be located at Valley Waste Service in Beaver Falls, PA. Hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
Responsibilities
• Receive Vehicle Inspection Reports (VIR) from drivers and review for completeness.
• Create repair work orders in the company’s maintenance software.
• Assign work orders to maintenance personnel; manage time and records associated with the repairs.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel to make sure they have the parts required to make the repairs.
• Perform similar work as required.
Job Requirements
• High school degree or GED and 3 years of experience in the automotive repair or solid waste industry.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
• Basic math and accounting knowledge; general knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Strong understanding of heavy duty auto mechanics and the ability to identify appropriate repairs for vehicle problems.
• Advanced computer and data-entry skills.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to provide information verbally, non-verbally, and in writing using language style, organization, and format appropriate to the subject matter, purpose, and audience; read English at a level necessary to examine, interpret, and apply legal, technical, and complex environmental guidelines, documents, records, and reports; speak English at a level necessary to communicate clearly and effectively; and write English at a level necessary to produce concise, accurate, and impartial reports, narratives, summaries, and recommendations.
• Work independently, prioritize work, coordinate activities, and meet critical deadlines; identify and effectively handle multiple activities and resources necessary to perform job assignments; organize, process, and evaluate data and ideas to make effective decisions and develop appropriate solutions; and use sound judgment and personal initiative to accomplish assignments.
• Work cooperatively with others and build and maintain constructive relationships with those encountered during the course of work, including responding effectively and tactfully to hostility, confusion, or concern expressed by others; and contribute to group efforts with ideas and suggestions.
• Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner in all engagements with employees, the public, and regulatory agencies.
• Follow instructions of supervisor.
• Foster a harassment-free workplace and adhere to all corporate policies.
Special Requirements
• Employee must adhere to all site safety rules and regulations. Employee will be asked to provide their own safety shoes.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
