Ohio Valley Waste Service offers employees the following types of benefits:
1. Full time employment plus potential overtime. Employees are paid at an hourly rate plus time and one-half for overtime hours worked.
2. Work weeks can vary from 5-8 hour days to 4-10 hour days for the employee’s regular schedule.
3. Health, Eye, Dental, Life, AD&D and short-term disability benefits after waiting period.
4. Eligible for company-provided uniforms after waiting period, if applicable.
5. Eligible for paid time off (PTO) after waiting period.
6. Eligible to participate in 401(k) and receive company contributions after waiting period.

Residential Thrower
Shank Waste Service, Inc. is seeking qualified throwers to work as a team with a driver to collect refuse from households daily. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Collect refuse from each stop pursuant to the specific contracts or levels of service within the serviced area. - Safely manually manipulate garbage cans or garbage containers. - Safely haul, lift, and load items and materials into the truck. - Assist the driver in backing situations to help guide and ensure safety while backing. - Maintain a courteous and cordial manner with all customers encountered on the route. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Must pass a physical exam and drug screen. - Employees must provide their own safety-approved work boots. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, lift/carry required. - The ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. is required. - This job is performed in and out of the truck. Employees are subject to weather elements daily; i.e. heat, sun, rain, snow, wind, etc. Schedule is Monday- Friday Start time 4am Weekend availability
