Vogel Disposal Service, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to prepare payroll for multiple companies, both union and non-union, and complete other duties as assigned. Knowledge of Paycor and entry-level accounting experience preferred. Human Resources knowledge is also helpful.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter New Hires into Paycor including tax set up and direct deposit set up.
- Process status changes, terminations, and work location changes in Paycor.
- Set up new PA tax location in Paycor to remain in compliance with Act 32.
- Assisting checking payroll reports during the payroll process cycle.
- Troubleshoot payroll errors caught during the payroll process.
- Assist with W2 mailings, corrections, and returns.
- Correct Direct Deposit rejections from banks and ensure employee is paid.
- Process accurate Time files from the timekeeping system and quickly respond to Time issues to ensure accurate payroll data is transmitted from the remote locations.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate final reports to ensure accuracy of employee earnings.
- Process correct garnishment calculations to ensure compliance with court orders and employee withholding requests.
- Process manual checks, voids, stop-payments within Paycor banking to resolve pay discrepancies.
- Review quarterly and year-end reports for accuracy from 3rd party carriers, researching and resolving inaccuracies to ensure reported employee wages and withholdings are accurate and company tax obligations are met.
- Provides support as needed to Payroll Administrator.
- Provides support as needed to the Human Resources Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-10 years of relevant work experience (payroll experience [specifically Paycor] preferred.)
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite and Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability of maintain confidentiality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The job is normally performed indoors. The ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally, is required.
- While heavy lifting is not required, the ability to occasionally exert 10-20 lbs. of force is required.
- Good manual dexterity is required to use common office equipment in an office environment.
